A soccer pitch that is considered to be “conforming” by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) is usually a length of 110 to 120 yards and has a width of 70 to 80 yards. The size of an ideally constructed soccer pitch is 360 feet long (120 yards), and 225 feet high (75 yards). But some soccer fields in competitive soccer leagues are larger than that.
This is a pretty typical soccer field size for a team that plays a lot of organized sports (like the NFL). But even at the college level, there are plenty of good soccer fields. It is very important that we understand the soccer field layout, and that we understand the characteristics of the soccer fields.
Every player must be able to correctly place markers that are placed in his own area of responsibility, and everyone must be able to recognize them. The size of the soccer field is also important, as are the boxes that are placed at the corners of the field and the central circle.
If you take a look at what areas of a soccer field are important, first look at how they are organized and where the goals and boxes are located. Then look at the markings that are used to indicate where different parts of the field are located. The goal and penalty box areas of every soccer field are very crucial. If you play a game against England, this is what you should do. In the field, you can clearly spot the different types of flags.

Goal Box
The box begins at the bottom of the leftmost corner of the field approximately 6 feet away. It continues to the end of the field approximately 6 feet away. Another marking can be put into place on either side of the goalposts to mark the area where the ball goes (goal box). It can be created by placing two lines of tape on the goal post sides.
Penalty Box
The box for kicking a goal is very much like a goal box, but it is a little longer, measuring 18 yards. 18 yard line between the goal post and the field. This line extends 12 yards beyond the goal post and out onto the field. Connects with a second marking to form the penalty area.
Penalty Kick Mark
The mark where a player must take a point to win the game is 12 yards before the goal. This line is used to mark the place where a kick is to be taken.
Penalty Arc
The penalty ring is made up of several lines that extend beyond the area that the kicker is responsible for, with a radius of 10 yards in the center. If there is a special arc to assist with a kick, it is important that the kicker is about 10 yards out of bounds, and that all of the others in the team are as far as possible.
Center Circle
The middle of the football putting pitch is marked by a small circular marker which has a diameter of 10 yards. The area around the central area of a soccer field is always the best position for players to be. View this image to see what that area of the field is exactly.
Corner Arck
At each side of the field is a 1/4 arc around the goal. The field is divided into four equal parts, a radius of 1 1/2 yards and a wide circle. When it is time to take a penalty kick, the ball should be placed inside the corner arc.
Flag Post
Even the flag posts at each corner of the field have a regulation. The flag posts must not be less than 5 feet tall and be placed at each corner of the field.
Official Soccer Goal Dimensions
FIFA regulations allow for goals to be made that are 7 yards wide and 2 feet high; they are placed on posts that extend 3 feet apart in the field and are normally placed along the outside of each of these posts.
The post for the soccer ball is to be yellow in color and should be fixed to the ground in a safe manner. It is permissible to place a net over the field of play, but only if it is not disruptive to the game. Usually, a net is placed on the soccer field that covers all of the players who want to shoot or catch a ball; however, certain fields also have to have a net placed on the field to allow players to catch balls.
There are many different sizes of soccer fields. But the dimensions of football pitches that are used by FIFA are an accepted standard. It should be 100 yards or more by 50 yards or more to be considered a soccer field that is considered to be of proper size for soccer matches. A soccer playing field is usually 120 yards in length by 75 yards in width.
As we will discuss later, the dimensions of a soccer field are very flexible. Apparently a 100 yard soccer field that is completely round should be allowed to fit into one of the FIFA field sizes, but FIFA regulations state that the field cannot be turned into a rectangular shape. You cannot have a perfectly round field for a soccer game.
FIFA establishes the global standard for soccer field dimensions, but many different soccer leagues impose specific regulations that a soccer field should meet.
Minimum size of field that is allowed to be used for soccer matches is 50 yards by 100 yards, or 5000 yards of playing area. Even though it is possible that the tiniest of soccer fields may look like a football field for a game on the American league circuit, these kinds of fields are very rare and are not permitted for a game on the European League circuit.
